World Hepatitis Day
19 May is World Hepatitis Day (WHD) and on that day, many members of the global health community will turn their focus to viral hepatitis, one of the most common, least understood and under diagnosed diseases which affects approximately 2 billion people worldwide.1
Join them on World Hepatitis Day in understanding what causes hepatitis B, how it is diagnosed and treated. Take the Hepatitis B Quiz and find out if you, or someone you care about, may be at risk of hepatitis B. If you think you are at risk of hepatitis B, speak to your health provider about getting a hepatitis B blood test and getting treated. Early treatment of hepatitis B can help you manage the disease before it progresses to serious liver disease or liver cancer.
In 2007, World Hepatitis Day was known as World Hepatitis Awareness Day (WHAD).
